. . . Guidelines for Choosing & Submitting Pics
|
provide a selection . . .
The
more pics you submit, the greater my chances for finding the right
image(s) & offering choices in approach and pricing. I may
also use multiple photos as reference for one portrait.
getting prospects to me . . .
I strongly recommend using online photo sites like Picasa, Flickr, or Dropbox
where you can upload & store batches of high resolution pics-
providing me both a selection to look through and full size images I can
download directly.**Please remember to enable sharing or send a password to permit me access to your pictures. If you already have collections of pics on Facebook - please friend me & I can search there for prospects.
criteria : what to consider. . .
size: My work is strongly dependent on detail which requires maginfication of source images-- so please provide photos w/ file sizes big enough to retain clarity when enlarged.
focus: Consider the face as the primary factor in selection.
I can integrate elements- backgrounds, poses, props ect... from other
pics but need at least one strong shot with framing focused on the face -
OR - of high enough resolution that the face remains sharp and clear
when I zoom in.
expression: I advise choosing images where the subject's face is relaxed
- in particular closed mouths and soft smiles work better than "toothy
grins" as teeth & gums can be difficult to illustrate without making
the subject look strange. That said if your favorite image is of your
loved one grinning ear-to-ear - I'll make it happen.
tone: High contrast of darks & lights is always helpful.
